OTTAWA — A day after saying it had suspended random tests of food-label accuracy in grocery stories, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency backtracked Friday, stating testing is still being done.
Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz admitted food inspectors are scaling back on checking nutrition claims on food labels, saying this was in order to focus on food safety.
